A clear plastic tarp inquiry should not start with size alone. The word plastic can point to clear vinyl, clear PVC, transparent reinforced PVC fabric or lighter clear poly material. If the wrong material route is chosen, the tarp may be clear enough but fail at the edge, wrinkle during installation, or become too weak for repeated fixing.

LonaTarp helps B2B buyers specify clear plastic tarp projects for enclosure panels, industrial partitions, loading-zone screens, greenhouse side covers, equipment viewing windows and transparent curtain systems. The page is for custom bulk orders, not retail stock sizes.

Before quoting, decide the material route first, then confirm finished size, visibility level, duty level, edge reinforcement, grommet layout, quantity and packing. LonaTarp's core manufacturing direction is PVC coated tarpaulin and PVC composite fabric. PE clear tarp should only be discussed as a sales option when the buyer accepts a lighter or budget material.

Choose the Clear Plastic Tarp Material Before Size

Many buyers search clear plastic tarp because they know the tarp should be see-through, but they do not yet know which material is right. The first decision is whether the project needs a clean clear view, reinforced structure, or a lower-cost temporary cover.

Material route

Best fit

What to check before quote

Clear PVC/vinyl tarp

Clear view, weather barrier, enclosure panels, curtains

Haze tolerance, flexibility, thickness direction, welded edge and protective packing

Transparent reinforced PVC fabric

Clear cover with better tear resistance and dimensional stability

Grid density, yarn direction, hem design, grommet spacing and pulling direction

Clear poly tarp sales option

Temporary or budget covering where full clarity is less critical

PE structure, reinforcement grid, UV exposure, edge strength and replacement expectation

Clear plastic sheet only

Very light temporary separation or dust cover

Whether it needs tarpaulin finishing, grommets or outdoor use at all

This choice changes the quote more than size alone. Two tarps with the same finished size can have very different cost and performance if one is clear vinyl and the other is reinforced clear poly.

Clear Plastic Tarp With Grommets Needs Edge Design

A clear plastic tarp with grommets should be designed as a fixing system, not as a sheet with holes. The grommet transfers pulling force into the hem, corner patch and clear material. If the edge is too narrow or the panel is pulled unevenly, the tarp can distort around the fixing line.

For B2B orders, send these details with the drawing:

  • Finished size, tolerance and quantity

  • Installation method: fixed panel, curtain, roll-up sheet or removable cover

  • Grommet material, spacing and edge distance

  • Hem structure: welded hem, sewn hem, webbing, rope edge or double fold

  • Corner patch position and shape

  • Whether D-rings, Velcro, zipper, straps or rope pockets are needed

  • Packing method: folded, rolled, flat-packed, carton, pallet or OEM packing

If the panel must stay visually clean, also confirm folding direction and protective packing. A clear surface makes fold marks, scratches and edge distortion easier to notice.

When to Use Clear Vinyl Instead of Clear Poly

Clear vinyl/PVC is usually the better direction when the buyer needs cleaner visibility, welded or heat-sealed edges, enclosure panels, curtains or repeated handling. It is also easier to discuss custom finishing such as hems, grommets, straps, zippers and label/packing programs.

Clear poly can be useful when the project is temporary, cost-sensitive or less demanding. Some clear poly tarps use reinforcement grids, but they are still not the same as PVC composite fabric. For LonaTarp, PE clear tarp remains a sales option, not a core self-manufactured advantage.

Choose by the job, not by the word plastic:

Job condition

Better direction

Reason

Clear enclosure panel

Clear PVC/vinyl

Better clarity and fabrication discussion

Temporary dust or rain cover

Clear poly sales option

Lower-cost route if duty level is limited

Repeated opening curtain

Clear PVC/vinyl with reinforced edge

Better accessory and edge planning

Stronger transparent cover

Transparent reinforced PVC fabric

Grid support improves tear control

Low-budget short use

Clear poly sales option

Cost may matter more than long service

B2B Applications for Clear Plastic Tarps

Clear plastic tarps work best when the buyer needs visibility plus a physical barrier. They are not ideal for every cover. If the tarp will carry heavy water load, drag across sharp surfaces or stay under strong wind tension, the material and edge plan must be upgraded.

Common B2B applications include:

  • Industrial partitions that keep work zones visible

  • Loading dock or warehouse door screens that block wind and rain

  • Greenhouse side panels and agricultural inspection covers

  • Equipment covers with viewing windows

  • Temporary construction screens for dust and weather control

  • OEM clear tarp programs with repeated sizes, labels and carton packing

For horizontal use, send the slope and support method. Standing water can deform a clear panel and make wrinkles more visible. For vertical use, send the opening method, pull direction and hardware layout.

What to Send for a Clear Plastic Tarp Quote

Because LonaTarp works with made-to-order B2B projects, the quote should include the material route and finishing details, not only the finished dimensions.

Please send:

  1. Application: enclosure panel, curtain, equipment cover, greenhouse side panel, screen or OEM program.

  2. Material route: clear PVC/vinyl, transparent reinforced PVC fabric, clear poly sales option or sample reference.

  3. Finished size: length, width, drawing, tolerance and quantity.

  4. Visibility need: clean clear view, light transmission, reinforced view or inspection window only.

  5. Duty level: thickness or GSM direction, folding frequency, outdoor exposure, wind or water risk.

  6. Edge design: welded hem, sewn hem, webbing, rope edge, corner patch or zipper.

  7. Fixing hardware: grommet material, spacing, edge distance, D-rings, Velcro or straps.

  8. Packing: folding, rolling, protective film, labels, cartons, pallets or OEM packaging.

MOQ is 5,000 sqm. Samples can be confirmed before bulk production. Normal lead time is about 15 days after specifications are confirmed. CE/SGS/ISO files can be discussed when they apply to the agreed product and order.
