Common Questions About Embossed PVC Tarpaulin
Here you will find our most frequently asked questions. If you do not find a resolution to your question, feel free to contact us directly.
What is your minimum order quantity?
5,000 sqm per pattern / color / gsm combination. If you order multiple patterns or colors in one batch, the total MOQ applies — not per pattern. Talk to us if you’re smaller; we sometimes accommodate orders below MOQ for long-term clients.
Can I get samples first?
Yes. We send A4 material samples with your chosen emboss pattern, GSM.
How does the custom pattern mold cost work?
Mold development cost is quoted upfront — typically ranges from $7,500 to $8,200 (≈ ¥55,000 – ¥60,000) depending on complexity. You pay it once. If your orders of that pattern reach 60,000 sqm total, we credit it back. Most buyers hit that within 12-18 months.
Do you offer heat-sealed seams on embossed tarps?
Yes. We have a professional production and processing team that can perform heat-sealed seams or high-frequency welding for your finished products. These seams are stronger than stitched seams, especially on heavy-duty fabrics.
What's your production lead time?
Shipment will be made within 15 days after receipt of the deposit. Custom new embossing patterns require an additional 15–30 days. Rush orders can be expedited — please inquire before placing your order.
What's the difference between embossed and smooth PVC tarpaulin?
Embossed adds texture for:
(1) aesthetic appeal — logos and branding look premium,
(2) functional benefits — anti-slip surfaces, improved grip,
(3) structural strength — the emboss pattern adds rigidity to the sheet. For heavy-duty covers and equipment, embossed outlasts smooth in real-world use because the texture distributes stress.
What is 3D embossed tarpaulin used for?
3D embossed tarpaulin serves two main purposes:
(1) Aesthetic enhancement — logos, brand names, and patterns create a premium look that stands out.
(2) Functional benefits — the textured surface provides anti-slip properties, improved grip, and structural rigidity. Common applications include heavy-duty truck covers, equipment enclosures, architectural membranes, and branded covers where both appearance and durability matter.
How to customize embossed PVC tarpaulin patterns?
The process starts with your design concept — send us a sketch, reference image, or vector file (AI, EPS, PDF). We evaluate feasibility based on embossing depth, repeat length, and material compatibility. You receive a mold development quote within 3 days. We produce a sample mold with material samples for your approval. Once approved, bulk production begins. For custom patterns, you pay mold development cost upfront — we credit it back when your orders of that pattern reach 60,000 sqm.
What colors are available?
Any RAL or Pantone. We also maintain stock colors for common applications: black, white, grey, blue, green, orange. Custom embossed PVC tarpaulin colors: minimum order quantity 5,000 square meters.
Why Factories and Brands Choose Our Embossed Collection
I've seen buyers get burned by embossed tarps that look good in photos but peel, fade, or crack within months. The difference is in the mold quality and the PVC lamination process.
We control both: our own coating line and embossing tooling. When you work with us, you're not dealing with a trader — you're talking to the tarpaulin factory that makes the material.
What You Get
- 12 Ready-to-Use 3D Patterns — common commercial designs already proven in the field. No tooling cost to start.
- Custom Pattern Development — if none of our 12 molds fit, we engineer new ones. Molds cost varies by complexity — we quote before we start.
- Pattern Cost Credit Program — pay for mold development upfront. Once you order 60,000 sqm of that pattern's products, we credit the full mold cost back. Your risk is zero if you hit the volume.
- GSM Flexibility — 300g to 1700g. Light-duty signage? Heavy-duty equipment cover? Same factory, different specs.
- Color Customization — any RAL or Pantone. Brand colors, fleet colors, safety colors — we match.
- Full Thickness Range — from lightweight 0.3mm to ultra-heavy 2.0mm for industrial use.
12 Ready-to-Use 3D Embossed Vinyl Fabric Patterns
We currently maintain 12 active 3D embossing patterns for PVC tarpaulin. These cover the most common commercial applications: anti-slip surfaces, branding enhancement, aesthetic texture, and industrial identification.
Can't find what you need in our existing molds? We develop new patterns regularly for clients who need specific textures — logos, geometric patterns, textural surfaces for anti-slip or decorative purposes.

GSM and Color Options for Textured PVC Tarpaulins
Pattern PVC Tarpaulin Weight Range: 300g to 1700g
Not every application needs the same weight. Here's how buyers typically spec:
| Application | Recommended GSM |
|---|---|
| Event signage, short-term displays | 300-450 gsm |
| Light equipment covers, dust barriers | 450-600 gsm |
| Standard truck covers, cargo protection | 600-850 gsm |
| Heavy equipment, industrial, mining | 850-1100 gsm |
| Structural membranes, architectural | 1100-1700 gsm |
Color Matching — Any RAL or Pantone We match any RAL or Pantone color. For large orders, we can also develop a proprietary color formula specific to your brand — no minimums beyond standard MOQ.
Factory Direct — Not a Trader
LonaTarp® is a PVC coating factory in Jiangxi, China. We produce the embossed tarpaulin material in-house: PVC coating, embossing, cutting, and finishing. You get factory pricing because there's no middleman.
Certifications: CE, SGS, ISO 9001. Quality control on every batch — material test reports available with each shipment.
Production capacity: 1800,000+ sqm per month. Lead time: 15 days from deposit.
Sample approval: 5-7 days extra if you need to see material first.
Custom Embossed Pattern Development
Step 1 — Concept & Quote You send us your design concept:
Sketch, reference image, or CAD file. We evaluate feasibility — embossing depth, repeat length, material compatibility. We quote mold development cost within 3 days. No charge for the evaluation.
Step 2 — Sample Mold
We produce a sample mold for your approval. You get material samples with the emboss applied so you can test feel, look, and durability. Iteration happens here if needed.
Step 3 — Production Run
Once you approve the sample, we begin bulk production. Your pattern goes into our active mold library for future orders — you don't pay mold development again for repeat orders.
The Pattern Cost Credit Here's the deal: if your custom pattern product orders reach 60,000 sqm (196,850 sq ft), we credit the full mold development cost back to you. Most commercial buyers hit that within 12-18 months of regular purchasing. It's how we keep long-term relationships strong.
All Lonatarp® embossed tarpaulin materials are produced under our ISO 9001:2015-certified quality management system. Third-party testing is available for every production batch.
