700Gsm 21oz 2×1 Material Textilene
This 700 GSM 2×1 material is a PVC-coated polyester mesh option for manufacturers reviewing a heavier mesh specification and a particular weave reference. Select the 2×1 sample by its actual yarn arrangement, openings and behavior in the intended product; the weave name alone does not establish strength, shade or suitability for a seat panel.
Supplied as made-to-order roll goods, the 700 GSM / 2×1 specification should be recorded with the approved sample and agreed weight tolerance.
Agree the weight unit before comparing mesh samples
The title uses 21 oz as a nominal weight description. Using NIST’s mass-per-area conversion, 700 g/m² is approximately 20.65 oz/yd²; an exact 21 oz/yd² is approximately 712 g/m². State the controlling unit and allowed variation in the order so that a rounded label is not mistaken for a second exact specification.
| Title element | What the sample must establish |
|---|---|
| 700 GSM | Mass per area of the complete coated mesh, with an agreed tolerance |
| 2×1 | The actual weave arrangement, direction and opening geometry |
| 21 oz description | Whether this is a nominal label or an exact oz/yd² requirement |
Test the 2×1 mesh in the product you manufacture
For a tensioned mesh panel, trial the material in the intended fabric direction with your frame, seam and edge finish. Examine deformation, edge behavior and the required mechanical results. For a screen or shade product, assess the openings, visibility and specified light or airflow performance instead of judging openness from GSM.
Outdoor exposure, cleaning and color retention requirements should be agreed for the proposed formulation and color. They cannot be read from the 700 GSM label, and this specification does not imply an interchangeable alternative to a named third-party branded fabric.
Specify the roll for a 2×1 production trial
For a bulk order of at least 5,000 m², provide the 700 GSM target, approved 2×1 reference, usable roll width, color, intended product and quantity. Include the frame or edge construction when it affects sample testing. Our team can review these inputs before arranging material approval.
If you are comparing weave families rather than this individual specification, use the mesh weave and roll-material collection to narrow the choice.
