Vinyl Tarp Price: B2B Factory Pricing and Quote Comparison Guide

If you are comparing vinyl tarp prices for a bulk order, the price per piece only tells part of the story. Two tarps with the same dimensions can have different material weights, edge construction, reinforcement, hardware, packaging, and order quantities. For importers, wholesalers, distributors, and brands, the useful comparison is the price of the same finished product under the same purchasing conditions.Below are LonaTarp factory reference prices for a basic finished vinyl tarp, followed by the main points to check when comparing supplier quotes.

I.How Much Does a Vinyl Tarp Cost?

U.S. retail prices for vinyl tarps vary widely because size, weight, thickness, construction, and selling conditions differ from product to product.

To make the difference easier to understand, we compared our bulk factory reference prices with a current U.S. retail product from Billboard Tarps.

The comparison uses a similar basic specification:

  • 20 oz / 22 mil vinyl tarp
  • White
  • Finished size as listed
  • No grommets
  • No D-rings
  • No printing
  • No other added fabrication

U.S. Retail Price vs. LonaTarp B2B Factory Reference Price

Finished Size U.S. Retail Reference LonaTarp B2B Reference Price Approx. LonaTarp MOQ*
10′ × 10′ $51.00/pc $11.05/pc 539 pcs
10′ × 20′ $102.00/pc $22.09/pc 270 pcs
20′ × 30′ $306.00/pc $66.28/pc 90 pcs

LonaTarp’s finished-tarp MOQ is based on a minimum total production area of 5,000 m². The approximate quantities above are rounded up according to each finished tarp size.

The U.S. prices above are single-piece retail references. LonaTarp’s prices are bulk factory reference prices, so the purchasing conditions are different and the figures should not be treated as a direct retail discount comparison.

How Is the LonaTarp Reference Price Calculated?

For this basic cut-only example, we use a simple factory pricing structure:

Material cost + cutting cost + accessory cost + packaging cost

The current calculation basis is:

  • 20 oz / 22 mil white vinyl material: $1.18/m²
  • Cutting: $0.009/m²
  • Accessories: $0 for the basic cut-only tarp
  • Standard packaging: no additional charge

Using that basis, the reference prices are calculated as follows:

Finished Size Area Material Cost Cutting Cost Accessories / Standard Packing Reference Price
10′ × 10′ 9.29 m² $10.96 $0.08 $0.00 $11.05/pc
10′ × 20′ 18.58 m² $21.93 $0.17 $0.00 $22.09/pc
20′ × 30′ 55.74 m² $65.78 $0.50 $0.00 $66.28/pc

This is the simplest finished-tarp configuration: the material is cut to the required size without sewing, grommets, reinforced corners, D-rings, printing, or other added fabrication.

If additional hardware or fabrication is required, the quotation changes accordingly.

For example:

  • Stainless steel grommet: $0.05/pc
  • Brass grommet: $0.08/pc

Sewing, reinforced corners, D-rings, webbing, Velcro, zippers, printing, and other custom fabrication are quoted according to the finished design.

Standard packaging does not add a separate charge. Custom retail, e-commerce, branded, or other special packaging can also be supplied and is quoted according to the packaging requirement.

This cost build-up also explains why a bulk factory price can look very different from a U.S. single-piece retail price. In factory purchasing, the quote is built from the actual material usage, fabrication, accessories, packaging, and total production volume rather than from a retail selling price.

Square, rectangular, round, and other shapes can also be specified for custom vinyl tarps.

II.Why Do Vinyl Tarp Prices Vary?

Size and material weight are obvious price differences, but finished-tarp pricing also reflects what happens after the material is selected.

A plain cut-to-size tarp requires much less processing than one with finished edges, reinforced stress points, closely spaced grommets, D-rings, webbing, printing, or retail-ready packaging.

Retail Price vs. B2B Factory Price

A retail listing normally represents one predefined product sold by the piece. Its size, construction, and packaging have already been decided.

A factory order may start with a drawing or target size and then add the construction needed for a distributor SKU, branded product line, or specific application.

That difference matters when comparing prices. A $/piece figure for a stocked retail tarp and a factory quote for several hundred made-to-order tarps do not represent the same purchasing conditions.

What Actually Changes a Finished Tarp Quote?

The most common price inputs are:

Price Input Why It Matters to the Quote
Finished size Determines material consumption and affects the number of pieces needed to reach the production MOQ
Weight / thickness Changes the material basis of the finished tarp
Shape Round or irregular shapes may require different cutting work
Edge construction Sewing, hems, or other finishing adds processing
Reinforcement Adds material and work at corners, edges, or stress areas
Grommets Adds hardware and installation
D-rings / webbing Adds components and assembly
Printing Adds printing and setup requirements
Quantity Determines the total production volume
Packaging Retail, e-commerce, private-label, and standard packing have different requirements
Inspection / testing Additional order requirements may add inspection or testing work
Delivery basis Changes what is included beyond the factory product price

For grommet-equipped orders, the component reference cost is currently $0.05 per stainless steel grommet or $0.08 per brass grommet.

Sewing, reinforced corners, D-rings, webbing, Velcro, zippers, printing, and similar additions depend on the actual finished design, so these are confirmed with the individual quotation rather than added as one standard surcharge.

III.How Do You Compare Vinyl Tarp Quotes Like-for-Like?

Suppose Supplier A and Supplier B both quote a 10′ × 20′ tarp.

Supplier A is pricing a white 20 oz vinyl tarp cut to size. Supplier B includes finished edges, reinforced corners, stainless steel grommets, D-rings, and individual branded packaging.

The dimensions match. The products do not.

Before deciding which quote is lower, compare what is actually being supplied.

Start With the Finished Tarp

Check the details that define the physical product:

  • Finished size and shape
  • Weight / thickness
  • Edge construction
  • Reinforcement
  • Grommet type and spacing
  • D-rings, webbing, or other hardware

This prevents a basic tarp from being compared directly with a more extensively fabricated product.

Then Check What the Price Includes

The next differences often sit outside the basic tarp construction.

Check whether the quotation includes:

  • Printing or private labels
  • Standard or custom packaging
  • Required inspection or testing
  • Delivery under the requested trade terms

For example, standard bulk packaging and retail-ready individual packaging are not the same cost basis.

Quantity also needs to match. LonaTarp uses a 5,000 m² minimum total production area for finished tarp orders rather than one fixed MOQ in pieces.

That works out to approximately:

  • 539 pcs for 10′ × 10′
  • 270 pcs for 10′ × 20′
  • 90 pcs for 20′ × 30′
  • 30 pcs for 40′ × 45′

A larger tarp therefore reaches the minimum production area with fewer pieces.

Like-for-Like Quote Comparison Checklist

Compare Supplier A Supplier B
Finished size
Weight / thickness
Edge construction
Reinforcement
Grommets / hardware
Printing / labeling
Packaging
Total quantity / area
Inspection / testing
Delivery basis

If several of these rows do not match, the two unit prices need more clarification before they can be compared directly.

IV.What Information Do You Need for an Accurate Vinyl Tarp Quote?

You do not need every detail finalized before asking for an initial price.

Start with the information you already know:

  • Finished dimensions or drawing
  • Required quantity
  • Intended use
  • Preferred weight / thickness, if known
  • Color
  • Shape
  • Edge construction
  • Reinforcement
  • Grommet type and spacing
  • Other hardware, if required

Then add any commercial requirements that affect the finished order, such as logo printing, private labels, retail or e-commerce packaging, testing requirements, delivery destination, and preferred trade terms.

If you are sourcing a new product and do not yet have a complete drawing, an existing sample, photo, or description of the intended use can provide a practical starting point.

The same principle applies when requesting a pvc tarpaulin cover price: define the finished cover and approximate order volume first. Details such as hardware, printing, packaging, and delivery terms can then be confirmed as the quotation develops.

Final pricing, samples, production timing, technical requirements, and acceptance conditions are confirmed for the individual order.

V.Frequently Asked Questions About Vinyl Tarp Pricing

Why can vinyl tarps of the same size have different prices?

Dimensions do not define the entire product. Material weight, edge construction, reinforcement, grommets, hardware, printing, packaging, and order quantity can all change the quote.

Can I get a vinyl tarp price before all specifications are finalized?

Yes. Size, approximate quantity, intended use, material preference, and known fabrication requirements are usually enough to begin discussing an initial price. The final quotation is confirmed after the finished construction and commercial terms are agreed.

Does the quoted vinyl tarp price include grommets, printing, packaging, and delivery?

That depends on the quotation. The reference prices in this guide cover basic cut-to-size tarps without sewing, grommets, reinforced corners, D-rings, or printing. Standard packaging does not add a separate charge. Custom packaging, additional fabrication, and delivery terms are confirmed for each order.

What information do I need to get an accurate bulk vinyl tarp quote?

Start with the finished size, quantity, material or weight if known, color, fabrication, hardware, printing, packaging, and delivery destination. A drawing or existing sample is helpful when the product has a custom construction.
