TPU coating fabric is produced by applying liquid or film TPU directly onto a textile substrate using a knife-over-roller or roll-to-roll coating process. The TPU penetrates the fabric surface and cures into a uniform, fully bonded layer — not a separate film laminated on top, but an integral part of the material.

This construction gives TPU coating fabric superior adhesion and edge stability compared to laminated alternatives. The coated surface is smooth, non-tacky, and resistant to abrasion, chemicals, and UV exposure. It's a go-to material for applications that demand reliable long-term performance without delamination risk.

We offer both matte and glossy TPU coating finishes, as well as textured patterns for anti-slip applications.

Common Applications

  • Heavy-duty covers and tarps — Equipment covers, machinery shrouds, and outdoor tarps where abrasion resistance and weatherproofing are both critical.

  • Sealing and gasket materials — Custom-cut gaskets, pipe wrap tape, and expansion joint seals in industrial assembly.

  • Conveyor belt covers — Drive belts and conveyor surfaces requiring low friction, oil resistance, and durability.

  • Marine and nautical uses — Boat hull covers, dock seals, and marine fender pads that resist saltwater, UV, and flex fatigue.

  • Tent and awning fabrics — Camping tents, event canopies, and awnings where lightweight waterproofing and long UV exposure are factors.

FAQ

What is the difference between TPU coating and TPU lamination? Coating: TPU is applied directly onto the fabric and bonds into the fibers. Lamination: a pre-made TPU film is bonded to the fabric surface with adhesive. Coating generally provides better adhesion and a thinner, more flexible result.

Can TPU coating fabric be RF/welding-seamed? Yes. TPU coating fabric welds cleanly using hot air, hot wedge, or RF welding — ideal for making large, seamless panels.

Do you offer anti-microbial TPU coating? Yes. Anti-microbial additives can be incorporated into the TPU coating formulation for medical, food, or hygiene-related applications.

What surface finishes are available? Matte, semi-gloss, glossy, and anti-slip textured finishes are available. Custom color matching is available for orders meeting MOQ.
