15cm 500D Single Layer Drop Stitch for SUP

This 15 cm, 2700 GSM material supports OEM SUP development where the bill of materials calls for a standard coated face construction. In buyer language, single layer drop stitch means the top and bottom faces do not receive a separate full-area reinforcing skin; it never means the inflatable board has only one wall.

The catalog model uses a 500D × 500D yarn structure and is available in 1.68 or 1.85 m widths with dot or in-line surfaces. Rail bands, deck pads, printing and local patches belong to the finished-board specification and must be reviewed separately.

Define “Single Layer” from a Physical Cross-Section

SUP terminology varies between brands. Before quotation, identify the face layers, coating or lamination route, rail build and any added reinforcement on a sample cross-section. This prevents a light construction from being presented as fusion or double-layer material by name alone.

Select the width and pattern from the board outline. Include nose and tail shaping, rail allowance, handle and valve zones, artwork placement and the direction of an in-line surface.

Approve the Complete Board, Not Only the Core

A material coupon can confirm color, print adhesion and basic weld response, but it cannot demonstrate board stiffness or pressure retention. Validate a finished prototype using the agreed pressure, hold time, dimensional tolerance and load method.

For bulk control, retain the approved cross-section, artwork, rail schedule and test record. If a buyer later adds a reinforcing skin or changes the rail system, treat it as a construction revision rather than a cosmetic update.

FAQ

Does single layer mean one fabric wall?

No. Drop-stitch material has connected top and bottom faces. The term describes the absence of an extra full-area reinforcing face layer in the stated construction.

Can LonaTarp print OEM SUP graphics?

Printing is optional for this model, but ink, color, registration, curing and weld clearance must be approved on the intended surface.

Should 500D be compared with 1000D by yarn number only?

No. Compare the complete construction, weight, finished board, rail design and test results under identical conditions.

What is required before a production order?

Approve the prototype and BOM, then plan at least 5,000 m² for the B2B material program.
