Performance Options for Vinyl Tarp Material
PVC tarp material performance can be defined and verified through recognized test methods. Depending on the end use, we confirm the required properties, test basis and acceptance criteria before production.
Waterproof Performance
Water penetration resistance can be verified by hydrostatic-pressure testing to ISO 811, based on the required end use.
Tensile & Tear Strength
Tensile and tear performance can be verified to ISO 1421 and ISO 4674-1 for the agreed fabric construction.
Flame Retardant & Functional
Flame-retardant grades can be matched to standards such as NFPA 701; other functions use the agreed test basis.
UV & Weathering Resistance
UV and outdoor weathering can be evaluated by xenon-arc exposure to ISO 4892-2, with test duration defined by specification.
Abrasion & Flex Resistance
Abrasion and repeated-flex resistance can be evaluated to ISO 5470-2 and ISO 7854 for demanding handling conditions.
Coating Adhesion Performance
Coating-to-fabric adhesion can be checked to ISO 2411, helping assess resistance to peeling and delamination in use.
Certifications & Test Reports
Match every claim to the exact PVC tarpaulin waterproof fabric and applicable document. Product reports and company certificates are not interchangeable.
PVC Tarpaulin Manufacturing & Quality Control
For roll-material buyers, three checkpoints matter: the production route, the approved material reference and inspection against the agreed bulk-order specification.
Sample Approval Before Bulk Production
Before bulk production, we agree on colour, surface, hand feel, specification and relevant performance requirements. Fabricators can also discuss a processing trial for their intended method.
In-House Roll Material Production
We manufacture PVC tarpaulin rolls in-house to the agreed material construction and finish. The selected base fabric, coating route, surface and roll format are confirmed for each order.
Specification & Batch Consistency
Bulk rolls are checked against the agreed base fabric, GSM, thickness, usable width, colour and surface. Tolerances and inspection frequency follow the confirmed order and actual QC procedure.
PVC Tarpaulin Roll Supply
We supply custom PVC tarpaulin rolls, also known as vinyl tarp rolls, for industrial fabrication and wholesale distribution.
Roll Format & Order Conditions
We supply custom PVC tarpaulin rolls in widths and lengths tailored to your production and handling requirements. Roll widths can be customized from 0.1 m to 3.2 m. Common roll lengths include 50 m, 100 m, and 300 m, with longer lengths available upon request.
Our standard MOQ is 5,000 m² per color and specification. Quotations are based on the selected material, required specifications and order quantity.
Fabrication & Processing Compatibility
Our PVC tarpaulin rolls can be specified for cutting, hot-air welding, high-frequency welding, sewing and printing.
The selected material must be compatible with your processing equipment, welding method and surface requirements.
Please let us know whether you use a handheld hot-air gun, an automatic hot-air welding machine or high-frequency (HF) welding equipment. Welding performance depends on the equipment and operating conditions. For example, insufficient heat during hot-air welding may result in weak seams.
We recommend testing material samples with your own equipment before bulk production to confirm welding compatibility.
Packing & Delivery
We provide protective packaging for PVC tarpaulin rolls according to your order requirements. Our standard packaging includes a paper core, 5 mm EPE foam padding, and an outer layer of kraft paper. Optional transparent film wrapping allows the roll color to remain visible, while pallet packing is also available for easier handling and transportation.
Roll labeling, permitted splices, and special packaging requirements can be confirmed before production. We also support custom logo printing on the outer packaging or directly on the PVC fabric, depending on the material surface and printing requirements.
Our standard production lead time is approximately 15 days after order confirmation, depending on the material specifications and order quantity. Shipping arrangements and transit times are confirmed based on the delivery destination.
LonaTarp manufactures PVC tarpaulin material and fabric rolls for product manufacturers, fabricators, importers and wholesale distributors. Our range includes PVC-coated and PVC-laminated polyester fabrics, with custom options for surface appearance, layer construction and functional performance.
Whether you are producing truck tarps, tents, awnings, industrial curtains, bags or inflatable products, we help turn your application requirements into a material specification for bulk production. Supply is in rolls for further cutting and fabrication, rather than individual retail tarps.
Choose the Material for Your Product
Start with the product you are making and the conditions it will face. A fabric selected for frequent folding may need a different balance of flexibility and reinforcement from one chosen for a printed awning or an airtight inflatable.
Use the following priorities to guide your material inquiry:
| Your Product | Material Requirements to Discuss |
|---|---|
| Truck tarps and transport covers | Tensile and tear strength, abrasion resistance, flexibility and seam performance |
| Tents, awnings and outdoor enclosures | Weather exposure, light transmission or blackout requirements, appearance and any required fire performance |
| Industrial covers and curtains | Repeated handling, abrasion, cleaning requirements and welding or sewing compatibility |
| Bags and protective products | Surface texture, flexibility, color consistency and printing or sewing requirements |
| Inflatable products | Airtight construction, coating adhesion, flexibility and welded-seam performance |
Coated and laminated fabrics are production routes, not quality grades. Base fabric, PVC layers, surface finish and functional requirements are matched together, with your cutting, welding and printing process in mind. We consider the polyester reinforcement, PVC layers and finishing requirements together when recommending a material. Specialty appearances and functions can be developed using either route, depending on the specification.
Match the Fabric to Your Production Process
Tell us how you intend to cut, join and decorate the material before the specification is finalized. PVC tarpaulin fabrics can be selected for hot-air welding, high-frequency welding, sewing and printing, but the selected grade must suit the intended process.
For welded products, evaluate a sample using your production equipment and intended seam design. For printed products, confirm the printing method, ink system and surface finish. A successful trial on one material should not be assumed to apply to every color, finish or construction.
Manufacturing & Quality Control
Custom production starts with a written specification and, where required, an approved material sample. Alongside the nominal GSM and thickness, agree on the characteristics that matter to your product: color, surface appearance, usable width, flexibility and relevant performance requirements.
The inspection plan should identify the required checks and acceptance limits. Any product test reports should apply to the selected material and the properties being claimed; a general company certificate is not a substitute for product-specific evidence. LonaTarp®
For repeat orders, identify the approved specification and any requested changes so that color, construction or processing requirements can be reviewed before production.
What to Confirm Before Ordering
Send your required roll width, GSM, color, quantity, processing method and target standard, where known. Please specify quantities by color and material specification.
An existing specification or reference sample is also welcome. Tell us your application or distribution requirements; you do not need every technical detail ready before contacting us.
Send your material requirements to LonaTarp for specification review, sample discussion and a bulk roll quotation.

PVC Tarpaulin Material & Roll FAQ
Is a higher GSM always better for PVC tarpaulin material?
No. A higher GSM means more weight per square meter, but it does not automatically mean better tear strength, flexibility or durability. Two fabrics with the same GSM can use different polyester reinforcement, PVC formulations and layer structures. Compare the construction and relevant test results, not the weight alone.
Can you match an existing PVC tarpaulin fabric sample?
Yes. We can review your sample and develop a proposed specification for comparison. Please tell us what needs to stay the same—such as color, texture, flexibility or strength—and what you would like to improve. The proposed material should be checked against your requirements before bulk production; matching appearance alone does not confirm equivalent performance.
Can different colors or specifications be combined to meet the MOQ?
Our standard MOQ is 5,000 m² per color and specification. Different colors or material constructions are calculated separately, rather than combined into one minimum order. Send the quantity required for each version so we can review your production requirements and prepare the quotation accordingly.
Can I test the material before placing a bulk order?
Yes. Material samples can be arranged for evaluation before bulk production. Tell us whether you need to assess appearance, handling, welding, sewing or printing so we can discuss an appropriate sample. Sample availability, size, charges and freight are confirmed for the specific request.
Can specialty finishes and performance options be combined?
Depending on the selected construction, yes. For example, a material may require a matte surface together with UV resistance, or a blackout structure together with flame-retardant performance. Tell us which features are essential and how the fabric will be processed. We will review the proposed combination and confirm any sample or testing requirements.
How should I compare PVC tarpaulin roll prices?
Compare quotations for the same material specification and on the same pricing basis. A price per roll is not directly comparable when roll widths or lengths differ. Check the price per square meter alongside the reinforcement, PVC construction, finish, required performance and quantity. Also confirm whether packaging, freight and any development charges are included.
